Ruut Veenhoven Speaks at Purdue Honors College

Longtime ISQOLS member, Ruut Veenhoven, presented, "Greater Happiness for a Greater Number: How Can that Be Achieved?" at the Purdue Honors College, USA.

What is happiness?  What makes us happy? Why does happiness matter? Ruut Veenhoven, Emeritus Professor of Social Conditions for Human Happiness at Erasmus University Rotterdam shared his insight on the subjective enjoyment of life during a week-long stay at the Purdue Honors College. Veenhoven’s campus visit included a public research talk, guest lectures, receptions with Purdue faculty and a Valentine’s Day celebration with students. Read more here.

ISQOLS community mourns the loss of Professor and Dr. Hans Rosling, a Swedish medical doctor/epidemiologist/QOL researcher.

 

Dr. Rosling was a role model among many in the quality-of-life/well-being research community. He certainly was a great hero to many of us. The world has lost a visionary and an inspiration to all who believed and used the science of quality of life and human well-being. He has been the public face of the QOL/well-being research community. We will miss him dearly.
