Call for Best Practices on Food Security – Expo Milan 2015
The Scientific Commitee for Expo Milan 2015 is pleased to invite ISQOLS members and followers to get involved into the recognition and promotion of “Best Sustainable Development Practices on Food Security”, by spreading the knowledge of the call among its members and followers.
Expo Milan 2015, in partnership with CIHEAM Bari and University Politecnico of Milan-METID, created the BSDP Call aiming at collecting worldwide best practices, experiences and projects involving food, in order to share and disseminate knowledge on the theme and its priorities and facilitate the reuse and the implementation of valuable solutions in different contexts.
Initiatives recognized as Best Practices will have to be in line with the following five thematic priorities:
- Sustainable management of natural resources
- Quantitative & qualitative enhancement of crop growing products
- Socio-economic dynamics and global markets
- Sustainable development of small rural communities
- Food consumption patterns: diet, environment, society, economy and health
The call will close on September 15th, 2014.
The final results will be published on November 27th 2014.
Selected applications will be rewarded with high visibility at the Pavilion Zero during Expo 2015!

The Best Practices collection and recognition will be supported by the Feeding Knowledge Program (www.feedingknowledge.net), which aims at establishing an international scientific network for research and innovation to promote and transfer knowledge on food security and to sustain policies and programs that really meet the needs of Developing Countries.
