Workshop in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) devoted to the International Year of Statistics (2013)

The University of Plovdiv (Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences) jointly with the University of Florence (Department of Statistics, Informatics, Applications “G. Parenti” – DiSIA), are organizing an international workshop in Plovdiv at the University of Plovdiv devoted to the International Year of Statistics (2013).

 

Title of the workshop:
“New Perspectives in teaching Statistics in the field of Economic and Social sciences”

Dates:
November 9-10, 2013

Venue:
Plovdiv University
24 Tzar Assen Street
Plovdiv 4000 Bulgaria

 

Sessions:

  1. Reflecting economic and social facts through statistical data
  2. The construction of complex measures
  3. Measuring changes
  4. The scientific meaning of statistical forecasts
  5. From data to telling stories
  6. Teaching Demography.

The workshop is going to be organized under the agreement established between the Department of Statistics, Informatics, Applications “G. Parenti” – DiSIA, University of Florence, Italy and the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Plovdiv university will publish the proceedings of the workshop.
On the second day of the workshop we shall organize an excursion for the participants to Bachkovo monastery.
