Due to the unavailability of large conference rooms at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the conference will this year be held at the Van der Valk Schiedam, on the border of the cities of Rotterdam and Schiedam. Rotterdam is famous for its port, modern architecture and housing EHERO ; Schiedam is the city with the world's highest windmills, historic warehouses, and jenever distilleries producing Dutch gin.

By public transport, you are in 20-25 minutes in the city centre of Rotterdam (including 10 minute walk from the hotel to metro station Schiedam Nieuwland; cost of a single trip is +/- €2,30). We recommend staying (1) in a hotel near the venue or (2) in a hotel in the city centre of Rotterdam with good access to metro station Blaak, Beurs or Eendrachtsplein or (3) in a hotel in Delfshaven (for Americans: this is an old port neighborhood from which the Pelgrim Fathers set sail; https://www.oudeofpelgrimvaderskerk.nl/en/ ). The metro map of Rotterdam can be found below. Participants with mobility problems are advised to stay in the conference hotel (special rooms are available). Hotel prices in the Rotterdam-Schiedam area typically vary between 75 and 175 euro per night.

Getting to the venue by car or public transport

By car: Dutch, Belgian, German or French participants may come by car. You will find the conference close to the A20 motorway, exit 10 (Schiedam Noord) For a complete route, enter your address of the hotel (Hargalaan 6, Schiedam) in you GPS. Parking on site is free. Please note: are you coming by car? Then don't forget to scan your parking ticket at the Barrista Lounge, the restaurant or the sales desk before departure to drive out for free.
