"Beyond the Bluegrass: Harnessing Research to Enhance Quality-of-life"

Call for Submissions: 

The International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) is excited to announce its 24th annual conference, set to take place in the beautiful Bluegrass region of Lexington, Kentucky!

The theme of this year’s conference is “Beyond the Bluegrass: Harnessing Research to Enhance Quality of Life.” As ISQOLS moves into three decades of advancing the study of quality of life, well-being, and happiness, we invite scholars from diverse disciplines and methodological backgrounds to contribute their research. This conference will take place at the University of Kentucky and offers a unique platform to explore innovative approaches and their implications for policymaking, with a shared commitment to enhancing societal well-being. Confirmed keynotes include, David Bartram (University of Leicester), Robert Biswas-Diener (Positive Acorn), Carol Graham (The Brookings Institution, University of Maryland), and Alexandria Huerta (USAID). 

Join us as we gather researchers and practitioners from around the globe to share insights, discuss impactful findings, and forge connections that drive forward the pursuit of sustainable well-being for all.

Call for Abstracts for Workshops, Special Sessions, Papers and Posters

Workshops
On August 10, there will be an opportunity to organize pre-conference workshops. Workshops should be educational in nature and cater especially to the PhD and postdoc community at ISQOLS. Please send an e-mail to (office@isqols.org) if you would like to organize a workshop before December 15, 2025. Read the ISQOLS Pre-Conference Workshops Guidebook for more details. 

Special Sessions
There is the option to organize a symposium (special session) at ISQOLS 2026. Please send an e-mail to (office@isqols.org) before December 15, 2025, if you would like to organize a symposium. Accepted symposia will be added to the online submission system.

Established in 1995 by a group of academic colleagues who have long engaged in quality-of-life research, ISQOLS became an interdisciplinary and professional home that binds scientists doing quality of life or well-being research in the basic and applied social and behavioral sciences.
